Recent media coverage of Paul Johnson’s interview with Congressman Andy Biggs on New Frontiers has raised an interesting question: Did Johnson just endorse Biggs for Governor of Arizona?
Not so fast.
Johnson entered the interview exactly where many Arizona voters find themselves today: undecided.
All three candidates for governor have been invited to sit down for an in-depth conversation. The goal isn’t to give candidates talking points—or to play the usual political game of gotcha questions. It is to give each candidate enough time to explain what they believe, defend their record, and make their case for Arizona’s future.
Biggs took us up on the invitation.
And the conversation got interesting.
Johnson pressed Biggs on his record, his philosophy of government, the criticism he has received, and—most importantly—what he would actually do as governor.
So what happened?
Did Paul Johnson endorse Andy Biggs?
Did Biggs actually win over an undecided independent voter?
Or did a substantive conversation between two people who don’t agree on everything simply look unusual in today’s political environment?
We’re not going to answer that here.
The full interview will be released later this week.
Watch it. Listen to Biggs’s answers. And draw your own conclusions.
Here’s a sneak peek:
And stay tuned. Invitations have been extended to all three candidates for Governor of Arizona.
