No Labels Party of Arizona Announces 2026 General Election Endorsements

The No Labels Party of Arizona has announced its endorsements for the 2026 general election following a candidate interview and review process.

The endorsed candidates include Democrats, Republicans and Independents running for federal, statewide and legislative offices. The selections reflect the party’s commitment to supporting candidates who are willing to engage independent voters, work across political divisions and put service to Arizonans ahead of partisan loyalty.

Arizona’s Independent Party Breaks With Politics as Usual: Endorses Democrats, Republicans and Independents

No Labels Party of Arizona says candidates should be judged by their willingness to work across political divides—not simply the letter after their name.

PHOENIX, ARIZONA — August 25, 2026 — The No Labels Party of Arizona — Arizona’s Independent Party today announced its endorsements for the 2026 general election following the completion of its candidate interview and review process.

The endorsements cross traditional political lines, including Democrats, Republicans and Independent candidates running for federal, statewide and legislative offices.

The party said that is precisely the point.

“We are trying to do something that political parties almost never do: support good candidates even when they belong to another party,” said Larry Aldrich, Chairman of the No Labels Endorsement Committee and Board Member. “We endorsed Republicans. We endorsed Democrats. We endorsed Independents. Some are conservative and some are liberal. We don’t agree with every position held by every candidate—and we don’t expect them to agree with us on everything.”

Sarah Smallhouse, No Labels Board Member said the endorsements reflect a larger effort to change the incentives of Arizona politics.

“For too long, politics has taught us that if someone is on the other team, we are supposed to oppose them. We believe Arizona can do better. A Republican can be right about something. A Democrat can be right about something. An Independent can be right about something. We should be able to disagree today and still work together tomorrow.”

Adrian Fontes (D) — Arizona Secretary of State

Kimberly Yee (R) — Arizona Superintendent of Public Instruction

Nick Mansour (D) — Arizona State Treasurer

Shawnna Bolick (R) — Arizona State Senate, Legislative District 2

Tammy Caputi (D) — Arizona House of Representatives, Legislative District 4

John Winchester (R) — Arizona House of Representatives, Legislative District 17

Anthony Ramirez (I) — Arizona State Senate, Legislative District 12

Jason LaForest (I) — Arizona State Senate, Legislative District 5

David Scott (I) — Arizona House of Representatives, Legislative District 10

They Were Willing to Show Up

The endorsements followed a process in which candidates seeking the party’s support were invited to engage with its Endorsement Committee.

For the party, the willingness to participate mattered.

“These candidates were willing to reach beyond their traditional political base and talk to independent voters,” Paul Johnson, No Labels of Arizona Chairman, said, “That may sound like a small thing, but in today’s politics it matters. You cannot bring people together if you are unwilling to sit down with people who may disagree with you. Their reaching out to us is a big indicator of the Character of the Candidate.”

The party emphasized that an endorsement does not mean agreement with every position a candidate holds. Instead, the endorsements recognize candidates who were willing to engage with independent voters and who the Endorsement Committee determined deserved the party’s support. The Board of Directors of the Party formally approved all recommendations for endorsement from the Committee.

A Different Role for a Political Party

The No Labels Party of Arizona believes an Independent Party can play a role that neither major party is structurally designed to play: creating a political meeting place between the two sides.

That includes fielding Independent candidates who give voters additional choices while also supporting Democrats and Republicans who demonstrate a willingness to reach beyond their own parties.

“Our goal isn’t to replace one partisan tribe with another,” Jackie Salit, No Labels Board Member said. “It’s to give the millions of Arizonans who are tired of being forced to choose between two political camps, a stronger voice—and to give elected officials a reason to listen to us.”

Salit said the endorsements represent an early indication of what a competitive Independent Party could mean for Arizona politics.

“We now have Independent candidates competing for office, while Democrats and Republicans are coming to Independent voters and asking for their support. That’s exactly what greater political competition should produce. More choices for voters and more reasons for politicians to listen.”

Putting Arizona Ahead of Party

The party said its endorsements ultimately rest on a straightforward principle:

“Your willingness to serve all Arizonans shouldn’t come second to the views of a political party.”

“We can disagree strongly about policy and still recognize that most Arizonans want many of the same things—a good education for their children, affordable housing and healthcare, safe communities, economic opportunity and a government capable of solving problems, These candidates were full of well thought out ideas and an enthusiasm for the job.” Johnson said.

“Independent voters can help remind both parties of something our politics has forgotten: the people on the other side aren’t our enemies. They’re our neighbors. And if we’re going to solve Arizona’s biggest problems, we’re eventually going to have to work together.”

“We didn’t ask what party they belonged to. We asked whether they would work with people who don’t.”
